Ok well my golden tee freezes up on the " how many holes do you want to play". It doesn't matter which course or how many holes you choose it freezes up. I thought for sure it was the hard drive so I bought a new one but it still freezes at the same location. I just want this thing fixed it's football season. Lol. Can anyone help me out?

have to measure what the +5volt is at on the power supply and ON THE BOARD
those power supplies can drift over time and hopefully yours has drifted DOWN so as to not operate the game correctly but sometimes they can drift UP and not operate the game correctly. that's why you need to measure it at both places. another reason to measure it in both places will tell you if theres a problem in between the two especially inside the connector, not likely but sometimes the pins inside the connector can not grip the connector tight enough and poor electron flow can cause a problem
bust out your multimeter and measure what the +5v is and report back
you can turn the +5volt up a little but over 5.25-5.35 can start to fry chips so don't be just turning it up without a multimeter connected

we want to rule out the PS as the problem so you don't go buy a hard drive and put it in and have the same problem

Thank you for the response. Here's what I had
On the board
+5 term 4.9
+5 term 4.9
-5 term 0
12v term 11.9

On the power supply
11.8
5.0

Btw, I already replaced the hard drive today and it froze up at the same exact location.

There should be a voltage adjustment test in the service mode (System Tests/Motherboard Tests/Voltage Adjustment). What does it tell you?

What color is your PCB? Green or red?
