Where can I acquire 2 way joysticks? Does anyone make new ones?

Should I just use a standard joystick and get a restrictor plate? Which then leads to the inevitable follow up question: where can I get a restrictor plate?

Thanks!

or you could get a 4 way and remove the up down switches, so it only does 2 way, or not wire up the other 2, that would be my choice for a cheap option :)

Ya, that would work, but I want a 2 way more for the lack of up and down movement in the joystick. So, the only way you can move it is side to side.

nixs, and armi both sell joysticks for $10 that have a restrictor plate included for 2, 4, or 8 way play.

What game? You can get repro'ed 2 way joystick bases for Joust, Defender, Stargate and Moon Patrol.

Bubble Bobble. I picked up a Romstar cab today that I am going to convert over. The control panel was set up for Arkanoid, so going to have to get joysticks. Bubble Bobble originally had two ways and since its going to be a 'dedicated' cab that's what I want.

Where can you get the repro'ed sticks? Doesn't really matter to me what game they were intended for.

Thanks!

Thanks for the link, exactly the type of info I am looking for.

One thing to keep in mind.....a lot of these sticks have a different mounting "footprint". Not a big deal if you're drilling new holes.....but can kinda suck if you're trying to match up existing holes.
