so i have a gyruss with a vertical hold issue. the game is still playable but with lines goign throught the screen. i have also a capcom bowling in a nintendo cab. the monitors are the same in both cabs but the chassis are different. what should/could i do.

the capcom bowling in a nintendo cap is NOT a nintendo monitor. the monitor itself has scratches that are noticable which makes it look like the monitor is cracked.

i was thinking take the chassis out of the bowling game and put it into the gyruss. then take the monitor out of the nintendo cab a replace it with a sanyo i got to convert it back to popeye.

can anyone assit and help me out.

The tube is irrelevant to your question. There are plenty of monitor manufacturers who used the same type of tube with their chassis models. For example, the Electrohome G07 and the Wells-Gardner K4600 and K4900 all used the same tube - but they cannot be swapped indiscriminately between themselves because they each used a different type of yoke.

If you want to swap the working chassis from one to the tube of the other, then you will also have to swap the yoke from the working tube with the one on the non-working tube - and risk convergence issues when you're done. It would much wiser to just swap entire monitors - tubes and all - even if you must exchange the frames they are in.

Of course, you could always just fix - or pay for someone else to fix - the problematic Gyruss chassis...
