how many revisions were there?

I see some dipshit trying to sell one for $209 on ebay so it makes me think it's worth $100? lol

Completed listings turned up nothing.

Mine happens to be revision 1.1 no errors or anything.

I may as well ask this too- what joysticks are the best replacements? Is it the ultimate or the competition? or something else?

UMK3 has 2 revisions which are, 1.1 & 1.2. The game also has 2 hacks, Zeus and Juggernault hacks. IMO, competition sticks work well for MK.

I remember someone saying one of them is crap. must have been the ultimate.

are the hacks worth getting? someone is selling the zeus hack on here for a good price.

I only really played MKII before. I may try to get into this for awhile before I sell it I suppose. (the board)

thanks bud

I use competition in my machine I like them.

I have 3 UMK3 boards. One is garbage doesn't work at all, but I managed to pull a few working ROMS off of it and put them to good use. It was/is v1.1. I have my "working" v1.1 board with a CMOS error, and my third one is a v1.0 (there are three revisions actually), it also is not working-biggest noticeable at a glance difference, that I recollect, was freezing Motaro with Sub Zero and some characters turning white when frozen-I think I played it once through before it went to complete hell.

Memory serves me I paid 40ish bucks for my CMOS error having board (also had one bad ROM), and I paid a combind 19 bucks for the other two (knowing they were not perfectly working). If it means anything I watched two auctions recently end arounde $41.00 with a reserve not met.

If you do wish to sell it let me know...not for $100.00 though. :)

well the MKII boards seem to fetch $75 or so don't they?

Is this worth less?

and it is the competition right? ultimates are the shitty ones.

The Zeus Hack

Just adds Noob and Smoke and half of their shit doesn't work. Not a fan of the hacks myself they mainly just break gameplay. The Challenger Hack I guess for MKII is okay but meh not a fan of the hacks.

worth $75.00? Well if you can get that they are worth that. I got a Single board MKII from someone on this board (channelmaniac) for I believe $30.00. I felt it was a great price at that rate. I bought a few Double boards real cheap...kinda watched ebay and if I saw a real cheap board I bought it, figuring the MKII boards aren't the most reliable, and spares, cheap ones are nice.

sounds like my man ctozzi. I got my first (of 2) tron uprights from him.

thanks for that link

I actually sold my UMK3 pcb rev 1.1 for $100 to a KLOV member this past Summer. It just depends on how bad some one wants it. Come to think of it, how often do you see these for sale anyway?

These have actually been going for more than $100 a lot lately. It actually surprises me. I prefer the original MK3 over UMK3 but I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority.

Right there with ya, brother. I have a UMK3 board for company, but I prefer the original. I like how they really tried to get away from the overboard pallet swap ninjas (cyrax, sektor, smoke excluded). I definitely missed Raiden and Johnny Cage in MK3 and UMK3, though.
