2 project grabs today Pacman and centipede cocktail
I picked up a converted Pacman today. It was a shoot the bull. The guy wanted to keep all of the shoot the bull parts which was fine. I just wanted the cabinet and monitor anyway. Now I have a home for my Jr. Pac-Man parts so that Pac-Man can get back to being Pac-Man. The best part is that I traded board repair work for the machine so it was basically free. I'm going to try citristrip on the front panel to get rid of the blue and a hair dryer and a lot of patience on the sides to get rid of those stickers. In addition I picked up a very nice looking centipede cocktail for $150. Unfortunately he has been disassembled. Someone decided to try to use the power brick and wiring harness to repair an upright and found out that the harness would not reach and just left the parts laying in the cocktail cabinet. There is a reportedly working monitor and two pcbs one of which is supposed to work and the other has a 40 pin chip missing. The AR board is gone. I have one but it is not been tested in about 14 years. The start buttons are also missing but I should have a pair of those as well. It came with the manual and a big-ass schematic sheet. The top glass is absolutely beautiful. The control panel overlay are not bad they should clean up pretty nice but the track balls are in pretty sorry shape. If I can get the thing reassembled and running I should be able to rebuild those with a kit from somewhere. Major kudos to the wife or helping me bring both of these downstairs tonight after helping me bring down a Need for Speed underground last week. That one is another story but I now have 3 projects plus another large pile of board work to do so I should not be bored for some time.k
