I have two different MK2 boards with two different issues. I've swapped them in my MK2 cabinet and here's what I got...

First board (original to cabinet) plays sound and everything, but gives CMOS error after bootup. All chips show up green in bootup, but afterwards it gives that error. Then I think it says something about switching to dipswitch settings... which is cool, but dipswitch setting are set for violence and there's no blood? really weird...

Second board boots and plays fine, but there's no sound? I didn't swap sound boards, just main boards. I thought all the sound stuff was ribboned to the separate sound board... is this not the case?

Thanks in advance!

Replace your coin battery on your first board, or swap it with your second since it doesn't give the error.

Do you get a bong on the second board during power up?

Have you tried starting a game or checking the volume? Maybe silent attract mode is turned on, or the volume is all the way down.

Yes, like previously stated, the CMOS battery needs to be changed for board 1.

Make sure the Attract Mode sounds are not turned off for board 2.

Also want to tell you that the settings for the sound level is stored in the CMOS. Regarding board 2, make sure the sound is not turned down. Go into the service menu and turn up the volume since you say it plays fine, I don't think it's an Attract Mode issue.

Got the second board to work. Both boards actually ended up giving CMOS errors. Radioshack sells the batteries but they're 6 bucks a piece, and since Dip switch settings worked just fine, I went with that.

Second board audio played fine with the first board's sound board, but not with its own... there's a whole other issue. Thanks for all the help!
