2 Millipede questions...ROM location and Pokey

So can a bad Pokey cause the machine to lock up?

The game was missing some sounds...DDT explosion...bonus count and 'death'. The game would almost always lock up on board 3 when the bugs are dropping.

I switched the Pokey's and now I have exactly the opposite sounds....I get much further in the game before it locks up. Now it almost exclusively locks up when I shoot a spider.

I have a new big blue and tried a different ARII board.

I can't justify only ordering a $10 part from BR so I'll probably wait on the pokey a little bit...

Self test shows no RAM errors or ROM errors..I cleaned all the EPROMs and reset them...and removed the 'filler' board between the hardness and the game board

Forget about the ROM error..it was the clear high score error

It seems like the pokeys can cause almost every possible problem. A bad one should show up in the self test though. P0 or P1 (or both about a third of the way down on the left side of the screen.
