Hey everyone,

Have a couple of these from a forum member and took a closer look at them. They are labeled SW-2P and are the non-remote control version of the GBS-8118.

First one had no sync, but all colors were there. IC9 switches the sync and had failed.

Second one had no sound and only blue outputs. IC8 switches the video outputs and had failed. The relay closest to the JAMMA edge connector failed and shorted the outputs together on one side. This caused a grounded speaker connection on one board to ground the audio output of another board.

I swapped the relay and a chip off of one to fix the other and am waiting on parts to fix the remaining board.

The chips are PI5V330SQE and are available at Mouser - part # 929-PI5V330SQE. The relays are not available there, but are easily obtained on eBay, only the shipping is slow boat from China. 10 of them plus 5 of the other relay was less than 6 dollar shipped.

The bigger relay is for audio.

I looked up the part # on the side of the relay and ordered them off of eBay. When they arrived I fixed the 2nd board.

Large yellow relay? Interesting, you would think the smaller one would be audio. Cool thanks

Just swapped the large relay. I used to get audio from slot 2, but not slot 1. Now I'm not getting any audio. This should send audio to the Jamma harness right? Or do I have to use the audio out pins for whatever reason? There is a audio out +, - and ground.

Audio from the JAMMA connector. With power off, check continuity on 10 and L pins (JAMMA audio connection) for continuity to ground.

One of those pins is ground and one is audio... sometimes PCBs will have them swapped and if you have one normal and one swapped you'll have no audio out... and a very hot audio amp chip.

Ok the no audio was a bad trace which I fixed. Ok installed 2 other relays - the audio relay just doesn't swap. I traced the audio pins for each slot and they go to the relay but the relay never activates. I'm thinking it's not getting the voltage to activate. Still don't know enough of this board how to troubleshoot. Everything else swaps fine.
