Anyone here has experience with those adaptors?

I would be interested in wiring one of those into my cabs..

I know its bad form to 'bump' your own thread, but i know that many of the tech types seem to post in the morning..

KLOV'in comes first, that's why they post in the morning! Looks like a cool accessory. Remote switching between boards? Great idea.

I made a huge post on this over a BYOAC and here I think when they first came out. They are okay.. Yes just okay. The "two" harness is missing the -5 line which causes problems with some games, the soldering is total shit, you should verify voltages on every line before connecting to a real pcb since I have found some that had +12 and -5 connected on the edge connector!!
The remotes are nice, they only work about 2 feet from the machine if the boards are installed inside. Some games have video issues using these. I have found diodes installed backwards causing the video and button issues. The newer ones that use surface mount parts are better with that problem.

Your pretty much taking your chances with these. I can tell you that if you want to use them with the Mortal Kombat or Killer Instinct boards then you need to get the -5 installed and add a 1n4004(or equivilant) diode to it.

Older PCBs dont seem to have issues though and work well. I have always been able to mod them to work well though with any pcb.

The 6-in-1 switchers that are made from the same company are even worse with these problems.

Any clue as to whether these would work with CPS-2 harware? I'm considering running both the 18-in-1 CPSII and 14-in-1 CPSI boardsets in the same cab.

I've never tired one with a CPS2 board, but im pretty sure you will need to make the -5 volt line to get the sound to work. Also if thoese boards have the fighting games you will need to make the extra kick harness possibly with diodes to keep feedback with the other board on button presses.

Switcher

I have had a few of the Yaton styles and had to fix every one out of the box. Usually ground issues. Also no circuit for the test or service buttons on 2 of them. With some jumpers and diodes I have fixed them all. Pretty cool when they are working. I have been running one in one of my Jamma machines for a few years now and it is still going good. The arcade shop version is nicer.

You guys musta missed my review thread with video pics of the Yaton-type 2 in 1 switcher. I am sure it still sits in the archives somewhere.

That's funny, I can go outside my garage and the remote still switches games. I find it works best when you install 2 games that use the same hardware, like Bad Dudes and Robocop by DE, or P.O.W. or Street Smart both by SNK.
