I got my Tapper and Timber today. It was a long drawn out process with shipping from Canada as I had never arranged shipping and customs before. Both machines arrived unscathed from the move.

The Tapper needs some work and is definitely going to need a lot of it to bring it back to the glory it deserves. It does not work at the moment. Took it in a package deal with the Timber. Looks like SN 3052.

The Timber has been my #2 grail for a long time. It works 100% with a little screen burn on the monitor which is barely noticeable during play. It is in a Root Beer Tapper cabinet but it has a tag inside that you can see in the pic that says TIM-314. The cab is also stamped 314. I thought all Timbers were sold as kits. Did Midway assemble Timbers in other cabs at the factory?

I would think it was just a kit if it were not stamped with the same # as the tag. You can tell there was another tag stapled behind the Timber tag at one point, plus it appears as if they tried to cover up the old serial # stamp as seen in the pics. Someone school me on this.

Anyway I am glad to finally get the Timber and will most likely give it a full restoration since the art is now available. This will be my first restoration so any help would be appreciated.

Does anyone know where you can find the player 1 and 2 start buttons?

Jeremy

Very nice. Those are both very fun games. I love the gameplay on both and the bartender/lumberjack character is great. Shipping to/from another country is a pain in the a**, though. I have shipped to Canada and England. The English guy wanted me to include $10 worth of "American Quarters" with his Galaxian cocktail. I guess he had some sort of transformer adaptor so he could plug it in. One place I worked for, we got a container of pins shipped from South America (I forgot which country). That was a real bitch as I needed a customs broker.

That's pretty awesome scoring both of those at the same time. I'd like to have a Timber one day but doubt I'll find one at what I'd like to pay. :D

See, now the more I think about it, the more I want a Timber. Even more than Tapper I think. At the very least I need to find a Timber ROM and try it out, since I've never seen one of these in the wild.

Congrats! Timber is #1 on my grail list and one should be coming out my way sometime soon. I also probably paid too much for this game (shipping sucks) but sometime when you want something bad enough you do what you gotta do.

Timber is a great game. I've scored 1.3M on MAME and can't wait to see if I can do even better with the real game.

I only ever saw 1 Timber in the wild and it was at some large Antique mall in White River Junction Vermont. My family used to vacation in New Hampshire during the summer and on the return trip home my Mother always had to stop at the same Antique mall which was super huge. A plus for me as this was the only arcade machine I remember them having and it gave me more playing time. I had forgotten about the game until I began collecting 8 years ago and decided I had to find one.

Shipping from Canada was a pain due to the fact that most of the shippers who I was trying to get quotes from acted like they did not want my business. NAVL quoted me $1350.00 which I believe was door to door. I almost crapped myself at that price. I ended up going thru freightquote.com and the shipper ended up being UPS freight for a cost of $535.00 + $40.00 for insurance, which included a liftgate at the pickup point. I had them shipped to their terminal in Atlanta which was about an hour away. Customs fee was about $98.00.

I can forward the info for the guy at freightquote.com if anyone is interested.

Thanks again!

Jeremy

Keep an eye on DJ DNS's posts. He seems to find Timbers like Ms PacMans and he is located in Viginia.

Yea I really only wanted the Timber and I was trying to get the guy down on his price. Finally he said if I gave him his asking price for the Timber he would throw in the Tapper for a little extra so I went for it.

Nice pickup, both those cabs look great. I have never seen a Timber in person, are they considered fairly rare? I love the pic of the sideart of your Timber where you can see the trees in the background... very fitting! The shipping price was really reasonable considering they came from Canada.

Very interesting.

I loved my local arcade, but I'm pretty sure they never had Timber. Although I was too infatuated with Star Wars to notice, most likely.

So, is it a requirement that you have to wear flannel when playing Timber. Seems like it would add to the atmosphere and experience to me :)
