Here are some picts of the finished decoupauge playfield & before & after cab. The decoupauge came out pretty good with a thick deep look. Will take 2 weeks before a ball can roll over it. The cab was a pain to trace & stencil.

What exactly is the decoupauge you speak about? Last I knew what that was is 'artwork' made by gluing pieces of paper to an object with a clear elmers glue mix on top.

decoupauge is a 2 part crystal clear coating. Like fiberglass resen only completly clear. It leaves a coating like verathane but is equal to 50 coats.

have a link to it? I can't find anything. Never heard of a 2 part epoxy used in that process or using that name before.

Just a heads up the stuff you are using is not called "decoupage." As prok said, decoupage is the process of making some arrangement and then incasing that arrangement in an epoxy of some sort. What you are doing is just putting a two part epoxy over the playfield. Now this epoxy may be especially for decoupage but the epoxy itself isn't called decoupage. I sure hope you tried this on something else and let it sit for a while to see the long term effects before covering your whole playfield.

It does look very nice though.

That was my question.. so essentially he clearcoated with some thinned down elmers glue. That's gonna be about as durable as making jewelry with a chainsaw in the long run i'm afraid.

Sorry guy's, after 2 weeks of curing it's as tuff as any clear coat, better in fact. It's not an epoxy. It's a polymer based hard coat sometimes used on commerical tables due to it's durability. Look up the spects on the web. If it gets any scratches or dings from normal use it can be polished out back to a glass finish. Since I spent sooo much time and effort in hand painting the whole field I wanted something that would last basically forever. Also remember, this game is not the most interesting play in the world. Plus it's now for home use......
