1) My Double Dragon monitor is in dire need of a cap kit (I presume). Colors are off and it's not vibrant at all. Trouble is, I can't find the cap kit on Bob Roberts' page. The serial sticker on back of my monitor reads: WG 134246.

2) I have my three cabinets side by side against the wall. Punch Out, Frogger, then Double Dragon. For some reason when all three cabinets are on, everything on the Frogger's (middle cab) screen has a wavy/ripple effect. Sort of like a current of water would look. It doesn't render the game unplayable, but it is definitely noticeable. The weird part is, when I turn on only Frogger, the screen stays still as it should. I've tried running Frogger and P.O., ripple starts. Frogger and DD, ripples again.

I opened the Frogger up in the back and noticed what appears to be a television screen that the previous owner installed. He had taken the screen and tube out I guess and wired it to the cabinet. I can't find my camera as of right now, but the sticker on that particular screen says TV. Could it be some sort of magnetism that a TV screen would respond to, but a CRT monitor wouldn't?

Thanks in advance,

sounds like you have something throwing off an electrical field near by , if you can post pics its easier to diagnose. far as a cap kit goes , you are showing the serial number which is useless as far as matching a chassis up , http://www.therealbobroberts.net/monitor.html
match up your chassis on this site or post a pic of it , one of us could ID it for you

CRT tube and "TV tube" are the same thing , I swap out burned crts to tv tubes all the time

also on your frogger open it up and unplug the onboard degauss ( black wire thing around the front of the crt) from the chassis , it may be stuck on and is not required for the monitor to operate

Thanks for the fast reply. Sorry about the monitor serial, I'm a newb at original arcade games. I just looked for a camera, the only one I have is a web cam that won't reach. Check back tomorrow - I'll borrow one and get some pics up. Thanks Space.

Here, I gave it a shot with my cell phone camera. 3 pictures of the Double Dragon monitor in need of a I.D. for a cap kit:

As for your Frogger, check to see if your plug has a ground prong on it...

tough to actually see the chassis in those pics, but it looks like a WG K4600 series monitor , didnt pick an easy one to start with eh , little better pics < I could tell you for sure

Also, you may need to replace the line filter in the Frogger. First, try plugging it into a different outlet (not all three in the same outlet/power strip). or try moving it away from the other two...

Well, when the other two are off it is fine. I don't exactly have another outlet to plug her into.

Replace the power cord for one? Check to make sure there is a jumper between the monitor frame and one of the bolts holding the isolation transformer to the bottom of the cab....

Whoa man, you may as well have written that in Korean LOL. Let me google a pic of an isolation transformer and familiarize myself. After work tomorrow I'll open Frogger back up, and take better pics of the whole inside of the cab. I'll also get some better quality pics of my DD chassis.

Be back around 5:30 pm eastern time. Thanks again guys, you got me pumped to get this done.

We don't need any better pics of your DD chassis. it is definitely a K4600, which I identified earlier. Not the easiest chassis to pull out for recapping, but it's been detailed how to do it somewhere around here a couple times (at least once by me)....

Well damn. I'm not too happy about this being my first chassis pull in that case.
