Yeah, that's a WG4700 that was shoehorned into a Ms. Pac 1up.
Yeah, the neck is sticking way out the back of the cab, with no cover over it.
Yeah, there's no ISO for the monitor.

Good lord! How to make a $50 1up worth a bit more. I'd buy it just to get the CRT if the price was right. What a waste.

I saw that in my local FBMP searches, it's not far from me. I gawked at it but missed the missing ISO. Yikes. To be fair, I don't see a tag on the power wires that says "Isolation Transformer MUST Be Used", so I'm sure it's fine without.

I once (many years ago) swapped a K7000 (needs an ISO) into a Killer Instinct cabinet, which has a power brick but doesn't have an ISO (because it used a K7400 or U2000 or something which doesn't need an ISO). I didn't realize the Killer Instinct cab didn't have an ISO in it.

The game actually worked fine like that, until I plugged it into a grounded receptacle. Once plugged into a grounded receptacle, it blew fuses, diodes, and burnt up the Killer Instinct's video line on the PCB.

-------------------------------

So my point is, if the guy is testing this by plugging it into a wall outlet with no ground, it may be wired in such a way that he hasn't noticed the need for an ISO yet... but when someone finally grounds it, the machine is going to blow up.

I bought a Police Trainer with a 25" K7000 in it. Once I got it home and started inspecting it closely I discovered no iso on it either. It was working fine. Because the earth ground had been disconnected from the monitor frame. It was floating from ground and was likely energized with line voltage. Talk about a death trap. The previous owner was oblivious to it. He must have just been very lucky.

I immediately cut the power plug off with a pair of scissors so I would be be temped to even power it up again until I installed an iso and added an earth ground for the frame.

I know newer types of monitors don't need an ISO, but that monitor board looks identical to a WG4600, and those definitely need an ISO.
It would be helpful if there was a list on here somewhere noting which ones do/don't need ISOs.
