I am going to be installing a new cpo for my Burgertime. I read over the blog Rich did on the Mappy CPO.. My panel doesn't look like it was ever primed or painted before the original one was installed. Does priming it help anything when installing the new overlay? I am going to fill in the rivet holes and mounting screw indents around the joystick. Can water or anything be used under the decal to help position it or is it a one shot to get it right?

the panel should have been primed youll notice it once you start sanding any fillers.
Id still paint or primer for 2 reasons.
The CPo will stick better to a painted or primed surface over bare metal and 2nd prevent rust.

BTcps are pretty much the same as Mappy

I prime all my cp's before applying as Rikitiki noted, and make sure you sand first to remove any hard to see imperfections, I assume after filling you will do this, and have a large flat surface to use when you apply, I use a heat gun on low settings to gently heat the areas for bends, it will allow the adhesive to adhere better, never have had any bends crack yet.. knocks on wood
