1st Arcade/Monitor Repair Party of the New Year, Jan 2nd (Central, NJ)

Ok, I'm in. I have six monitors that need work, but I only have some of the cap kits. I placed an order with Bob, but I don't know if the parts will get here in time. Does anyone have any spare 19v2000 or G05-802 cap kits (w/xsistors) they can bring? I have a couple spare 20EZ + audio cap kits if anyone needs them. I have a lot of other arcade tools / parts that I'll bring just in case. Might even bring a TV tube for a swap.

Just a reminder for those of you on the fence, please PM me Yes or No
by the 31st.

I've heard officially from:

Bsdpinball - Coming
Bungy - Coming
EagleTG - Coming
MCA - Maybe

Orion3311 - Not Coming
Steve W - Not Coming

Bob said to look for my parts tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be bringing 3 B/W vectors.

I am in.

I plan to attend with 2 quetionable 13 inch monitor.
WG 13K4713 if I remember and a Electrohome G07 FBO.

Oh Yeah!

I just want to thank Mike for a great afternoon. I met some great guys and made some new friends. Oh, and buy the way, brought two non working 13 inch monitors and left with 2 working monitors :) That is a fantastic feeling!!!.
Thanks a million again for hosting and starting the year in the right direction.
Thanks to Mike for hosting and everyone who attended and made an effort.
EagleTG- thanks for not giving up on that 4700!

Had a great time Mike, thanks for having us over. It was great to socialize with some local collectors. I got 2 AR boards rebuilt, and brought a 19" G07 back to life. When I got home I was so pumped that I repaired the 19V2000 that I didn't get to while I was there. I hope Brian chimes in with the status of the 64 piece capkit for his D9200!

Big thanks to mike and todd. for over 2.5 years this monitor had been gathering dust on a shelf, now it works. It was great to meet you guys and have faces to put with the screen names.

Ahh! Darn, too bad I missed it... I've been hoping to jump that first cap kit hurdle too. That's what I get for not checking the forum all week. Oh well, maybe next time.

Everyone was great.. a pleasure to have over. We'll have to do again in another month or two.

Here are some pics for the "Pics for it didnt happen crowd":)

The date being so close to the holidays is the only thing that screwed it up for me. One of the great benefits of a large dysfunctional family is that the Christmas get-togethers can take over a month depending on who-doesn't-want-to-be-around-who (I wish I were joking, its still not over!).

Thanks for hosting this! I'm up for the next one of these, even if its only to watch the process for when I'm ready.

I am glad to hear the party was a success...

I ended up fixing my 6100 monitor on Dec 30th just in time for our New Year's Day Party. I used the Tempest monitor flow chart to diagnose the issue as these monitor boards have been recapped in the last 5 years or so. R100, Q100, and ZD100 were bad in the low voltage section. I'll need to order a LV2000 to do a better job bullet-proofing, but for the party it worked like a champ, running 10 hrs solid without a problem. :)

I wish some one was doing tis near cinch I have a few monitors I can't figure out.

Ugh, the light reflection off of my head makes me look really bald. I mean, I know it's happening, but JEEZ.

ROFL.. you're going to kill me but I was thinking the same thing when
I was uploading the pics. "I don't remember Todd going bald".
