19V2000, post cap kit, but new issues

Asteroids

You could try checking for the x,y swings from the game pcb at the deflection board its self. That would eliminate any connector/wiring issues to that point. check them on a trace and not at the headder pin connector.

Okay, I'm getting Y signal from the game board, and the 2 amp quick blow fuse at F600 is blowing at startup. Prior to the blow (about 1 second), spot killer is off!

Any thoughts?

It's the Y signal fuse, fyi... Is there a way to trace the signal with the power off on the deflection board? The resistors are a stopping point for me.

I'm gonna open up the HV cage and check the board in there. I have a 10k 1/4w resistor, will that be enough to use to discharge the monitor?

You don't need a resistor to discharge the monitor, use the screwdriver. The 'oh it'll blow the diode' thing is an old wives tale... the diode is holding thousands of volts against it while it's running, but yet letting less than that go through a screwdriver instead of it is supposed to damage it = hogwash
