I got my Omega Race up and running, but the monitor has a case of the wiggles/waves. I ordered and installed the cap kit from Bob Roberts including the frame mounted Transistors, but it did not fix the problem.

I've never messed with an HV diode in one of these, does it look like that may be my problem?

Upright or cocktail? Also, does you HV boards have the cover installed?

Upright, HV cover in place. New caps on the power supply board, but it still has the original 2 large filter caps. I tried it with the fuse pulled that goes to the flourecents to make sure that wasn't causing it, no change.

Make sure that the ground spring hooked up running accross the back of the tube and grounded to the frame, but is looks like a voltage fluctuation...

I didn't replace the 2 large 'suitcase' filter caps. I wanted to see if I could find some other less expensive things to try before springing $35 for the pair of caps that still might not be the problem. I need to take the monitor out and test it in someone elses game to make sure the problem is in the monitor and not my cab.

Where in Washington are you? I have games you can test that monitor in. omega race being one of them.

I'm north of Seattle. I haven't put out the local call for help yet, but I know there are a few people who don't live too far from me that can help out.

Update, I just installed my monitor and game boards in another upright Omega Race and the problem did not show up. I guess I'll bite the bullet and order the 2 large caps. I'll post an update after the install.

UPDATE: I just replaced the 2 large caps, and the wave is gone!

Now the only issue is that all the lines look like they have 'noise' in them. I've ordered all the caps on both main and sound board, so I'll swap them all out and see if that does it.

The game is perfectly playable as is, but I'd like to figure this problem out as well.

I have a working Omega Race board that has the same issue. It plays fine, but has "noise" in the vectors. I've replaced all of the caps on the main board with no change. The issue is definitely on the main board. I've tried multiple sound boards (that work fine with another motherboard) and the issue remains.

I'd be interested to hear what works if you fix it.

I replaced all the electrolytic caps on the main and sound boards with no change.:(
