Ok I literally just replaced the HV Diode with a new one about a week ago. Now I go to play the game (Asteroids Deluxe) and all the sprites enlarge to mega size. The Monitor was still acting jittery picture wise after the new HV diode install. My question is what else could be causing this since the HV diode is fresh. The Monitor still had a jittery picture before I installed the new Diode but never enlarger the picture like this before. I hope that there is something else involved in Blooming Issues I really don't want to spend another $15 for another Diode.

The monitor has been recapped all solder points reflowed and the Resistors have been jumped on the Deflection PCB. I have even replaced all the old adjustment Pots with new ones.

At this point I'm seriously considering replacing all the other components in the monitor.

Assuming that the HV diode is getting good contact with the anode wires (they get all greasy - I direct solder them to the diode but sometimes the leads break off), the next step is to reflow that big connector on the deflection PCB. I had one that continued to bloom after it heated up - after the HV diode was replaced - and the reflow took care of it...

Mine never had any spring connectors to begin with they where removed by the last person that put an HV diode in there. So the HV diode is directly soldered to the wire. I will double check the Solder joints but I think I may have reflowed everything on the HV board already. Yeah It does take A few min before it blooms so something isn't working properly after the monitor warms up.

Read my post again. I distinctly wrote to reflow the large connector on the DEFLECTION board...
