Hello all, I picked up this space invaders and it has vertical collapse (you already knew this by the title)

I have never worked on a black and white monitor, where do I start- how do I discharge this? I read somewhere that you can't just ground under the anode cap.

I know I'll probably be replacing a transistor, resistor, diode, or something!

I'd love to learn how to fix this. Thanks!!

Ok..
"I read somewhere that you can't just ground under the anode cap" this only applies to Vector monitors be it color or B&W
but it is best to short any tube with a 47K 5 watt resistor in the ground wire,
you will not get the big arching spark, and will need hold it to the anode a little longer, but it is safer for both tube and chassis
