I first notice the text and numbers were unintelligible. For starters we capped the monitor, but there was no improvement on that front. As I adjusted the contrast pot, for a brief second the image is correct, but immediately goes back. It seems to happen when I turn the knob on the pot very quickly. I'm just wondering if this could be the pot or simply a symptom of another issue. The first pic is what the image looks like without moving the pot.

the pot is pretty cheap thing to try and i stock them all if you need. as it could be something else it sure sounds like the pot is flaky.

i am wondering why you think the monitor is at fault, it only displays what the boards send it, the other elements displayed look correct in both of your pic's so i doubt the monitor is the problem

although i could be wrong ... again

I was thinking monitor just because turning the contrast pot made the text/numbers readable, albeit for a split second. Could a PCB issue be affected by adjusting a monitor pot? I don't have a way to test the PCB in another cab.

If the big can style capacitor was not replaced, then I would replace it. If I remember correctly, one of the capacitors inside the can is part of the contrast circuit.

So if these are the correct original specs for the multi section
200uf/50v
400uf/125v
600uf/100v
20uf/200v

and these the replacements
220uf/50v
470uf/125v
680uf/100v
22uf/200v

does my can have the correct valued caps in it? Not sure of the acceptable substitutes for each cap. I want to move forward on the rebuilding of the can.

here is the kit for yours. the values you have on your lists are wrong for the v1000 chassis and they look like they are for a motorola chassis.

You are correct. I didnt realize creepykenny was working a motorola. Ibelieve I bought a v1000 kit from you. All the caps have been replaced with the exception of the 4 caps in the can. That's assuming the v1001 uses the same kit. I need the 4 caps in the can. Also, I haven't pulled that Sanyo chassis out my DK cocktail yet. As soon as I do, I can send it to you so you can put together a cap kit for that chassis.

yes the v1001 / v1000 is the same kit.

When will you have these in stock? This game is my 14yo sons end of the year school project and we have until the end of the month. He replaced all the other caps, but these ones are a little more tricky. I hope replacing the filter caps fixes it. If not, I'm at a loss.

unfortunately they are scheduled to ship mid next month.

I'm desperate to get this picture clear before the end of the month. I'm supposed to take it to my sons school so he can show his class what he's done to the game for his end of the year project. I reached out to a local outfit "Millennial Electronics" for caps. They said they could have them in a few days. 3 days later they tell me my caps are in. I go down there and they ordered them from mouser. I should have done that. They charged me $28.00 and the caps they gave me won't even fit in the can, so I still need to buy the correct caps. Here is my dilemma, I will probably have to rig these caps up to try and get this viewable. The three substitute caps they sent me were

200v 820uF for the 125v 800uF and its a snap in

100v 200uF for the 50v 200uF

200v 22uF for the 200v 20uF

These caps as they are, will not fit in the can. I will obviously need to buy a new kit to make it right. If I can get the caps they gave me, temporarily installed, will they work?

you don't have to mount them in the can if you absolutely need it running.

200v 820uF for the 125v 800uF and its a snap in this should be a 1000uf 160v with a small case 20mm diameter or smaller

100v 200uF for the 50v 200uF this should be a 220uf 50v

200v 22uF for the 200v 20uF this should be a 22uf 250v

case diameter is very critical to fit in the can.

Opened up the can, not what I expected. On the bottom of the can, one of the legs is painted red. Based on this photo, can you tell which legs correspond to the labels, A, B, C and D on the can?

its looks like that info is written on the can ... doesn't it state : "A 125v 800uf RED" across the bottom in your picture?
it appears it does to me
