19k7302, dim picture, worn RB, made 1999, cap kit or tube rejuv?

I had a smart idea to trade the monitor from my no art Pac-Man to my newest JAMMA age cab. Bad idea it seems. In went a rebuilt horizontal frame G07 with a new flyback, capkit, Hot, VR, horizontal width coil. Out came this this....junk!

This is a WG K7300 series monitor made in 1999 and it has had light use during my ownership and has a small amount of burn. I'm hoping I don't need a tube rejuvenation, would a cap kit fix my issue, or a dim tube a symptom of a flyback about to blow?

I remember having to adjust up the red gain a year ago, so I think this may be a tube issue. But this is a very new tube compared to the G07s and K4900s I usually run in my games...

Time to beg an arcade friend for his rejuvenator and a quick refresher on how to operate it????

It's never easy with arcade games, is it?

your tube will need a rejuve.

your tube will probably not maintain said rejuve for very long.

there was just a period there that every tube Wells used were just crap. sometimes you get lucky and get a Philips or Samsung tube instead of the usual Zeniths, and those are way better, but... yeah.

might wanna poke around and see what your donor tube options are.

Yep, you should have kept the G07. I've lost track off all the 7302's I've seen with shot tubes (with little to no burn, I might add). As already stated, Wells used shit tubes on that series.

Well, my begging paid off, the tube is much improved now. I was able to meet up with my friend and in ten minutes the tube was done. The tube is a Samsung, and has a bit more burn than I thought (so it must have been on the street for at least a few weeks/months). Maybe things won't be so bad for the longevity of the monitor. Since this will be home use, hopefully it won't degrade for a long time. In return I capped a monitor for my friend. First time I've used my soldering iron in three months.

K7203 monitors are pretty decent. Best part about them is it's super easy to find a donor tv tube.. Most black plastic case. 19" tvs from the 90's have a tube with a yoke that's almost perfect. Or just swap your yoke.. Find a tv with the thin neck and go to town!
