19K7000 with a broken tube. Original fly. Replaced tube, good picture.

Then capped. Accidentally put in C57 backward. After it popped its top, replaced and fired back up. Nothing. Discovered blown fuse. Put my "lightbulb" fuse in there and it lit /bright/. Tested HOT: good. C36: good. CSC: good. Bridge: good. D18: good. Haven't tested the VR yet (it's on the list of stuff to check).

Backward cap couldn't cause that much damage, could it? Usually the cap itself is all that goes.

vr is my guess... hope to hell thats it because if not good luck. i actually have one here now that i need to send to mid b/c i cant figure it out...

I say "diode", but continuity, Ohms, whatever in this case.....
Just checking for a short between the two pins. If found, pull it it and check it again.
Pin 1 is input, pin 4 is output, so there should be by no means a short there.

Then I don't believe there's a short. It was reading high resistance, IIRC. I'll check again when I get back to it.

What wattage is the light bulb? I tried that idea on a 4900, bulb lit good and i thought for sure it was gonna blow the fuse...worked perfectly.

You can get the proper 4 amp fuses at radio smack.
