Hey guys, I have a Ms-Pacman Cocktail with a 19k4906 WG. I just did a cap job and the problem I am having is still there. Everything can be seen in the video. I'm also attaching a photo of a ground wire that is cut in the cab. The game came to me with it like this. It's the green and yellow wire in the pic.

In the video I say the problem is on the bottom right hand side but it's actually the whole right hand side of the screen.

Thanks guys!!!

Did you double check caps are in the right locations and in the correct polarity?

Did you check for bad solder joints on the monitor main board?

Looks to me like you might still have a bad electrolytic capacitor or else maybe the vertical size trimpot is bad.

There is a slap switch on the coin door under the lock which is designed to reset the game board when the coin door is hit hard. Looks like that function is working normally.

+1 did you replace every electrolytic on all the pcbs with a good quality kit? did you reflow everything? those 4600's take alot of time/work reflowing to make them solid since they have a ton of header pins. DO NOT add new solder to the old so make sure to remove old solder and reflow new solder on all pins otherwise you can introduce too many surface contaminants into the solder joint and create a bad joint.

Hey Ken, I really appreciate the info! All the caps are definitely in the right place and polarity; double checked with two people.

I didn't replace the chiclet looking caps for the horizontal hold. I also didn't adjust the horizontal hold on the board that's a coil.

Will also check all solder points.

When you say the vertical size trim pot might be bad, do you mean the horizontal trim pot?

Thanks for the coin door info!!! One less thing to worry about!

Thanks a lot Security! I will reflow. I didn't replace the chiclet caps. Do you sell that kit; and it's a 4900 series monitor not 4600 if that makes a difference.

I would like to order the additional caps.

Thanks!

And as far as the black triangle issue t the bottom of the screen, I'm thinking that can't be fixed? When I use the verticle hold, the screen moves up and down behind it so I'm thinking the phosphorus is shot on that part of the monitor?

Thanks guys!!!

I see you have the Mega Kit Security! Does it have the chiclet caps in it? Ordering it now anyway. Thanks!

you have vertical foldover on the chassis. possible bad transistor on the x/y board, cold solder joint on card or main board. also looks like a pcb issue with the jitters on that section. these are the next things i would check since you verified all caps were correct. Paul

4900 and 4600 series use completely different kits.

The 4900 series is also well known for numerous bad solder joints on the main board, especially along the outer perimeter where there are jumper wires.

Thank you so much Paul Matt and Ken!!!! Really appreciate the time you all take to reply and help!!!

Do you think the Tube is ok with that part at the bottom that is blacked out?

all electrolytics are in kits but not the MF caps (chiclet caps). i do stock alot of different values so let me know what specific ones your looking for if you need help finding them. most of the time you never replace the MF unless they are bad.

I have seen monitors do that before from chassis failure.

Ok Paul so when you say Chassis failure do you mean something going bad such as caps, resistors, transistors? Or something else?

I have seen monitors do that before from chassis failure.

Just wanted to thank Security0001 for the great customer service and products!!! Hopefully I can get this MS-Pacman working along with the Frogger, Zaxxon Sound, and now SPACE INVADERS!!!

Need to focus on one Machines at a time.

Thanks again everyone! I will update when I get working on it again.

Ok guys, I've had a little time and did some reflow and pulled some transistors and haven't found any bad ones.

I have a couple more transistors to check. Voltages check good on the board.

I have found some pots that are bad. Here are the readings for all the pots on the board:

VR201= 1.7k According to manual suppose to be 2K

VR301= 2.9k According to manual suppose to be 5K

VR302= 4.5k can't find this listed

VR303= 240 According to manual suppose to be 500K

VR351= 1.7k According to manual suppose to be 2K

VR352= 7.6k According to manual suppose to be 2K

I'm going to change them all. Do you think this could be all the problems seen in the video I posted?

Thanks Guys!!!

Just noticed this too?!? Is this right; D306 has a cap in parallel with it.
