1988 Secret Service Pinball locks up when credit is inputted

Hi,

I am new to pinball machines. This is my second machine and I just got it powered up after blowing up the Transformer while woking on the power supply. A previous owner had put a 2.5 amp fuse where a .25 amp fuse should have been in the +100v power path. Thanks guy... (not)
This is a 1988 Data East Secret Service pinball. It was originally sent to the German market and somehow found its way back.
I bought a rebuilt power supply board and finally found another transformer and installed them today. It seems to power up just fine. There are some German looking words at the beginning but they are not real or complete words. When you try and load a credit the machine locks up. The only way to clear the condition is to power down and restart the machine. (see video link attached, if it works )

Looking for input, Dan

With the machine power off, try removing the batteries for a few minutes and then put them back in. This should default everything to factory setttings.

OK...Pulled batteries and and condition slightly improved. Now when you try to insert a credit it will not take and the catch phraise " Secret Service in digital sterio sound" and the display does not lock up. It continues to scroll through the the demo mode.

To recap my video..when pinball is powered up and starts to go through a systems check mode while several sounds and voice over starts. Then...

"BAD" shows up in player 1 and "Schltr" in player 3.
then "BAD" in player 1 and Spule in player 3
then "BAD" in player 1 and Fresser in player 3
then "Nein" comes up in player 4

then machine goes into demo mode like everything is working fine.
Thanks again for the input, Dan

Good News

The pinball is now up and working!!
The first time I removed the batteries it was only for 20 min and i had the response as described above. I removed the batteries overnight and replaced them in the morning. After powering the game up and getting a "Reset" response in the dispaly I inserted a credit and it registered. Display mode started and i was able to play the game.
After 4 months I am finally able to play the game.
Thank you for your input. Greatly appreciated, Dan
