1981 7-11 Arcade footage uploaded

that's what it looked like to me. almost like a "look video games aren't bad!!!" games got a bad rap in the early eighties, especially on long island. ronnie lamb (a housewife from centereach) spearheaded the anti-arcade movement out here and even got on donahue with her agenda!

Those game cabinets look absolutely MINT!!! No burn on those monitors either!!!

How do you know it's a 7-11? That looks like some generic mini-grocer or gas station. 7-11's usually had a little corner room that could fit 3 or 4 machines and not out in the open.

The quality of that video is out of sight - seriously - how often do you see footage from 1981 that looks that good. +1000 pts. to the people who stored that film correctly.

The tape is labeled '7-11 footage', and the two 7-11's in my neighborhood looked exactly like that one.

The quality of the footage almost makes me think this is a more recent video with kids wearing retro T shirts.

It was interesting to see the line of kids waiting to play the machines. That brings back memories.
