1980's vintage video game magazines

I really don't remember seeing some of those magazines. Vidiot and the Videogames in particular.

I have alot of the Electronic Games and Fun magazines still to this day. I do recall it being more of a computer magazine in the '84 era; in which I stopped collecting them....

Video games mag i remember - not as popular as the "EGM" from those days (not to be confused with the later electronics gaming montly).

Any chance you would sell your stash of EGM?

hopefully no one buys the complete set. i'd like a few issues, and i think if they were advertised on here everyone would buy them up individually and the whole set would go quick... and go to good homes of collectors rather than whoever.

I have every issue of Electronic Games from 1981 to 1985 in mint condition. I don't have any of the issues from when it started being published again in the 90's.

I was into collecting comic books at the time and I treated every issue the same as my comics. I put them in plastic sleeves and kept them in boxes just like my comics.

What would be a fair price for the whole set?

Don't know, but that's what? 60 issues? No, wait... it wasn't always a monthly.

I envy you. The Electronic Games of the early '80s was an awesome mag.

I think it was a post and run on his part. :( If he puts them on eBay they will be swept up by Billmarioman no doubt. He buys just about every big lot of game magazine and then relists single issues at inflated (imo) prices, but I guess it works out well for him.

I'd really like to buy some of the older EG magazines that I am missing. I had a subscription as a kid and unfortunately didn't appreciate the preservation of this type of thing back then. My brother and I thought it was a great idea to cut out all the pictures of our favorite games and stick them to our bedroom wall. :(

Now when I get an old gaming magazine I wash my hands before touching it and put it into an acid-free polypropylene baggy with cardboard backing.. How times have changed. :p

yeah, i came across 3 issues of EG i didn't have on ioffer on the store possibly run by the same guy (used the same pics for the issues that billmarioman does, and the issue i got was identical to the pic). the three were priced at like $10 a piece and the others at the standard price he runs, so i mistakenly made an offer not realizing i should've just bought all three. ended up he changed the prices on them to the higher price and there they still sit.

however, first, has anyone heard back from the OP via PM at all?

second, i'm looking for joystik issues, specifically the first one (september '82). if anyone has one they're willing to sell, let me know your price...

Yeah, I know. I donated a few mag scans to them. :p

I like to have the real thing. The same could be said for emulating games instead of playing the real hardware, but purists love to own the originals. I feel the same with my magazines.

I don't mind having access to scans, but I want to own the originals as well.
