1980 Midway Pac-Man upright in So. CA. - Home Use ONLY !

I picked up a beautiful condition Midway Pac-Man upright the other day. The original owner purchased it NEW and it has never seen commercial use. I'm going to go ahead and recap the monitor but otherwise it will be completely unadulterated. Will take some pics soon and upload them.

LMK - if you are interested.

Thanks

Steve

I'm looking for offers at this time. Not sure what a historical piece like this would go for in this condition. MMAO. You can also email directly if you prefer:

Historical piece?

Absolutely !

You don't think Pac-Man upright has any sort of historical significance when it comes to arcade game history? IMHO - it is a piece of history.

I know what I paid for it. I don't know what it's worth.... in this condition.

without pics it's tough to say.
a restored pac which would certainly look better than an unrestored huo pac is worth $800 or so. debatable certainly, but that's pretty close on the price.

You REALLY need pictures with something like this. If it's as nice as you're saying it is the pictures will greatly increase the value. Otherwise, the lack of pictures is just suspicious and it's going to greatly reduce the offers. And I don't mean 1 cell phone picture from the front. I mean 8 or 10 high quality pictures, inside and out.

Usually when a seller can't name a price, the unit is really not for sale. This is a vanity post disguised as a sale.

When you're talking about one of the largest production runs ever in the industry, I'm not so sure that historical significance alone is going to translate into big dollars like historical significance + rarity (e.g. Computer Space) or simply rarity (e.g. Reactor, Sundance). Surely you must have an idea of how much you'd like to extract from someone, no? When you duck and dodge as you have done repeatedly here, it leaves some with the impression that you are trying to wring every dollar you possibly can out of it. If so, you'd probably have better luck on eBay. It would be nice to see some pics though, as HUO really does not say much re: actual condition from my experience.

The original post very clearly states MMAO. As per the For Sale Posting Guidelines.

For those that are acronym challenged - that means (M)ake (M)e (A)n (O)ffer.

I have received many emails some with offers and many looking for pics. Those will be posted very soon. Thanks for the interest.

I agree. I have seen some horrible HUO games. Just because they are HUO does not mean they arent used. Sometimes they get used and abused more. I actually think the term HUO should not be used at all as it is more a marketing ploy then anyhing.

I emailed you right away but no response.

How can anybody possibly make an offer without ANY pix at all or at least a very detailed description like: mint, collector quality, superb, excellent, good, nice, routed, fire wood, etc.?

You got offers with no pics?

I sold one restored Pac painted for under $1000 last year. I would say more like $800-$900 barter deal. I did not make much. Expensive stencils, expensive to repro the bezel on glass instead of plexi reverse printed, original guts moved over and a nice CP and new t-moulding. Pacman is not worth much more than $800-$1200 period. It is a common game like Asteroids. At x-mas perhaps $1500 for the non collector doctor who wants one.

Vids are in the dumpster for resale right now even if rare. I will be wrapping and storing a lot of nice games for that reason.

Good luck and don't get too greedy if you want to sell it. If you can flip it great.

Michael

A very low serial number pacman, like #1, would have a premium value regardless if it was beat to shit.

Does anyone have pac man #1?

I owned Pacman #00002 and ended up throwing it away cause it was in the way and sat on Craigslist for 6 months with no offers. But it was before Christmas, if I had been patient I'm sure it would of sold
