1979 Star Trek Transformer, where can I purchase parts?

Looking to get one of these replaced. Power board works, but I think the transformer is just not able to hold on very well. I was told I might be able to get something like this at Radio Shack of all places. Any ideas?

Pinball power transformers are very robust and very rarely fail. They are huge, heavy, and expensive to buy let alone get shipped.

Generally, most problems with this vintage of machine will be either the circuit board connected to the power transformer or the connectors on that board.

However, if you feel your transformer is bad, here is where you can buy one:

Scroll down to the Power Transformers list. You need to get the transformer's "E" numbers either from the rubber stamped number on the old transformer or from the parts list in the game manual.

Keep in mind the transformer weighs around 20 pounds so there's a pretty hefty freight charge.

...and I'll add to what ken said.....Radio Shack would NEVER have something like this. Who the hell told you that? :)

Thanks so far, the power board has be resoldered a few times (brand new one from Marco) and the game was working for about a week, but now, nothing again...

Have you tried checking the power output of the transformer? You could connect a meter to it and run it out the coin door if you think the transformer is failing occasionally. This way you will verify power from the transformer anyway.
