After finishing this beast of a project, I am never going to complain about the work involved in an arcade cabinet restoration again. It's been a long haul, but with the recent addition of a PI-1 X4 replacement board, I can now call this one complete.

Well, mostly... I've still got issues with the 4 digit display, and I'd like to modify the coin housings to fit .984 tokens, but it's complete enough to show off! :]

Was the rocket supposed to look like that, or were there variations?

Nope, the original design had the rocket as seen in the very first post, and the same rocket again on the backbox... while I love the Gottlieb stencil designs in general, I always thought the original Count-Down art was the worst of the bunch. Since I was going to be redoing the cabinet anyway, I drew up new stencils, using the original as the basis but going with a more 1970s space program theme.

Nice. I like your design better and it still keeps the same style as that era.

I really like your custom side art. Sure, it's not original... but it looks 10 times better!

Great job at improving it but still staying consistent with the theme.
