i have loved pinball since i was 5, im looking to buy my 1st machine. there is a local with a 75 chicago coin hollywood for $200 obo it has a cracked back glass. any thoughts?

Backglass crack would concern me but if your OK with it and think it will survive, go for it. A replacement would run $175 probably. BTW: read the Hollywood fix on pinballninja.com. It talks about how CCMs are tough to work on and fail often.

Take a look around for parts and for another backglass before you buy?

Are you a multi-ball fan? Or just like the slow go EM style play? I enjoy multi-ball as you have to work for it, and then your rewarded with the extra balls in play. I have a system 11 High Speed and it's our only one and it has held up well. Would like to get 2-3 more (I have room for that many) but there alot of money and other priorities come first.

i love multi-ball, my wife and i are addicted to williams pinball classics for wii. its not real pinball but dam close. there was a high speed in my barricks when i was in the navy i used to play it all the time.
my all time favorite games are gottlieb surfer, big brave, joker poker. bally space invaders, wizard, paragon
williams travel time,pheonix,high speed,flash,funhouse,space shuttle.

i went to look at the hollywood pin today. the current owner got it by cleaning out a bank repo home . its dusty and dirty. under the dust the playfield looks like about an 8,8.25.
cabinet is an 8,8.5 backglass is toast. weird thing is that their appears to be no flaking or peeled paint.its just broken. it looks like this pin has just sat for many years. it isnt firing up, however it looks to be intact from what i can tell. i got the owner down to $100 any thoughts.and it has the origianl rules and free game score cards in an envelope they are in great shape.
