Today was the official start of my Super Scope restoration. I moved it out of my garage and into the workshop. I've never worked on an EM game before so this should be a little bit of a challenge. The first thing I did (after installing a power cord)? Hacking it for FREE PLAY of course. Who carries a pocket full of dimes around? It looks like the majority of stuff I am going to do to start with it just cleaning. Someone lubricated things in there so everything is gummed up. Contacts don't contact, things that are supposed to move don't, things that are supposed to seen can't be. I did manage to scrounge up something that resembles a schematic (several pictures that were taken by a KLOV member of an old one that I used a program to join together). It isn't perfect but gives me some ideas. It is hard to follow because a lot of the old fabric wrapped wires have lost their colors.

Question #1 - How do you get the backglass off. The game does not have a lock and the backglass box was nailed shut. I removed the nail and the BG swung forward (hindged on the bottom). It feels like I should be able to pull it straight up but I have been unlucking in doing so.

Speaking of luck... Look what I found in the bottom of the cab!

geez how old is that claw? i think that possum was killed by a dinosaur.any reason why your removing the backglass? there's enough room to replace bulbs when its opened(piece of vacuum hose helps get the deep ones). clean contacts as you go not all at once(that tends to make things worse).clean a few test game, clean a few more test game, and so on. this maybe different than other guys do it.but Ive done it this way for 40 years with pretty good success.
good luck

Removing the glass because I am anal. The game has 50 years of spiderwebs and dirt in it. I would love to give it a good once over. But you are right, your method would work just fine.

EDIT - It looks like I have to unscrew the hinges to remove the BG. Strange way to remove it but that looks like the way. I don't think I can easily get to the screws without removing the rifle which would be quite a task (I think).

If you look at the website you would see what killed the possum.
