I am buying a rockola and the owner says the arm that lifts the record is stuck.anyone run into this? It doesnt sound like much but Im not sure of this model and how it works. Thanks Dan

The "gripper" arm can have all kinds of problems causing it to be "stuck". One reason is an owner who may have tried forcing the arm and may have damaging something.

Another reason could be the gripper "trunion" assembly is corroded internally or is otherwise bound up due to dried out lubrication.

Sometimes the gripper motor develops a short circuit in the motor's armature assembly which then trips a circuit breaker. This requires either replacing the motor with a brand new one from www.victoryglass.com or taking the existing motor to an electric motor repair shop and having the armature rewound/rebuilt.
