Working on a rebuild of my 1964 United Orbit Shuffle Alley. Do you put any lube or oil on the plungers?
 
No. I'd clean the plungers and metal sleeves though. And if the metal sleeves come out, consider replacing with modern nylon ones. You can (very lightly) lube the rivets on the stepper units.

Thanks for the reply. I have another question, I went through all the switches and cleaned and adjusted them. I think I adjusted one that is for free play. Turns on, all the score reels zero out, but it stays on game over. Are these the switches for free play?

Can you swap out the jones plug for a regular regular type of connector?

Those are not free play switches. Typically you can put it into free play by adjusting a switch on the Credit Unit (stepper unit). The switch that opens when the stepper unit is at its reset/0 position can be bent closed so that it simulates always having credits.
