Well, I don't know if I have good news or bad news.

Today I took off the romstar stickers from the side of the machine. I was trying to keep them in good shape in case somebody wanted them, but they were not the easiest to take off.

Afterwards, I started sanding and low and behold satan was right underneath.

I assumed somebody sanded this down before they painted it, but apparently not. I immediately stopped sanding and it was as far as I was able to get today.

Now I want your guy's opinion. Is it worth stripping the paint to save the hand painted satan underneath? My first answer would be yes, but let me stop you right there. There are huge, deep scratches on both sides of this machine. I think somebody tried to move it and damaged it heavily. These deep scratches go right through the middle of where satan would be. So even if I save satan, I'm going to have to touch him up a lot. I've never really done something like that before, so I don't know if it's even worth the effort. These are also on both sides. My big problem is they have dented the wood, so I wanted to use some kind of wood filler to make it less dented, but that would be hard around the artwork. What do you guys think? I'll post some pictures of the scratches below.
