Just got a Bally pennant today and trying to figure out what the bar is for that runs horizontally behind the coin box does. It has a spring on it but doesn't appear to make any contact with other parts. Also need a coin door for it, long shot but have to ask

I've got an older machine at the house, mine ran off batteries. The thing you're talking about on mine turns off the lights after a little while. Does yours slowly move, if you don't hit the load lever? On mine the lever pushes the contraption back, which is kind of times, it takes about a minute to get where it's going and it opens a contact somewhere that makes the lights turn off (and save the battery). If you hit the lever again it turns the lights back on... mine's not a Bally though so it may be a different set up.

This one is pure mechanical. It looks like one side of the bar is near the coin slide and the other side is near the arm that raises the ball up to the play field. Plays fine without it so?
