So I have a dynamo cabinet with a 19" monitor and am looking to install a 25". It's running a MK 1 game right now. Is it pretty easy to do? Do I have to get an arcade screen or can I find a 25" picture tube from a tv and adapt that to work? Thanks. Any help would be appreciated

the dynamo cabs either used a 25" or 19" monitor.

there was no swapping them out since the cab is not wide enough.

it looks like your cab is made for the 19" only.

The cabinet inside with is 23". I don't know the dimensions for a 25" but I'm sure it's less than that since the screen is measured diagonally, no?

screen size is measured that way.

the overall size of the CRT and frame combined is larger on some monitor types.

also, some cabs are not deep enough to accommodate a 25" monitor.

not saying it will not work, but it may be more of a hassle that it is worth.

it is your cab, you can try anything you want.

sweet if it works.

just cut a huge hole in the back and put a bubble on the back...

Back to the OP, would a 19" chassis work on a 25" tube? anything can be modified as far as size and what not, I could even widen the cab I have if needed. So his main question was, as far as I can see, how do you switch a 19" monitor for a 25"? what do I need to do this? Is the switch doable with a donor tube or do we need to find a 25" chassis? As you can tell, I have the same question. Thanks. Mike

no, you cannot use a 25" on a 19" or vice versa.

i just repaired a 25" that was tried on a 19"

it blew several parts in the vertical circuit.

there are plenty of 25" and 19" K7000 chassis out there.

i have them if you need one.

shoot me a PM.

Honestly I think the 19 looks big enough in that cab. I would leave it or sell it.
