19" LCD replacement monitors with MCR games

looks like in post #5 someone tried a vision pro LCD.

ignore what the haters say, if you want an LCD in it and it will make the game easier to maintain and keep you playing it, then by all means put an LCD in.

a CRT is really the most beautiful choice (LCDs look pretty bad usually) and once you get one rebuilt a CRT should serve you for a long time.. but it's YOUR game and it's important that you do what you need to do to keep it playing and alive. (if you do get rid of the CRT you have if you have one, though please do consider donating it to someone else that can use it!)

-good luck

Really?
Why the smart ass comment?
It's not funny..it's not helpful. .it's fact I find hurtful
I thought people where support and help others here but am sure seeing the opposite.

tron's video sync is odd, I'm not sure that an LCD would work in that game. I had problems getting newer CRT's to work in MCR games.

VAPS... Yeah, whatever. Do what you want to do with YOUR games. At least the guy is trying to make it work and not pitch it into a ditch.

Buffet has been the only real help here, if I could buy a monitor at least I know he can fix it.

I have no monitors. .seems all of the are on the east coast.

Has anyone made an adapter for this issue?

No , no he's not. It's pretty dang simple to find a working crt. People are literally giving them away.

And join a Preservation site and forum to not even try..... whatever.

huh, old thread. I used Vision Pro LCD's from Happ in the pics above. If I recall right the game ended up with a burn free K7000 with a dark CRT mask. It looked really nice.

Its his game. If he wants to put a 13" black and white monitor in the thing he should be able too without anyone giving him grief.

I bet it would work too. :)

Not when you join a forum and start asking questions. It's like walking into a bar and asking what everyone thinks about putting a crate engine in a 57 Chevy. And then crying when everyone says not to do it.

Don't want an opinion, then don't start a silly conversation.

And BTW, the game looked KILLER on the LCD IRL. Probably closer to what the programmers thought it should look like. I know, scan lines... blah, blah, blah. I dont care about that crap. I just want the game to work.

If the guy had a k7000 or 49/4600 to put in it then that would be one thing. Sounds like he doesnt.

Ask away, I'll answer the questions...

My background as a tech for 30+ years has taught me to do what you can when you can on these games.

Agree crt burn free scan lines and all look great.

Yeah, thats the tough part though. Finding a CRT with no burn. I really like the later CRT's with the dark masking though. They all looked really good. I put one in a Centipede not too long ago. Let me see if I can find the pic.

That's an opinion not many would share including me. Those pics look terrible IMO.
I tried to convince myself my Wells Gardner LCD in my Galaga looked great...............until I put back in the K7000 with burn free new crt. I was just trying to fool myself it seems :)

Answer away, and so will I.

And 30+ years should have taught you how to bring these games back to their former glory not ruin them ;)

its actually a Multipede. K7200 chassis with a nice no burn dark tube.

I'm sure I'll get some grief for no side art and the wrong color t molding.

Yup, dont care what you think.

These games to me are machines to be put on a route, nothing more nothing less.

Have fun with YOUR opinion.
