Here is a pic of my qbert showing off how the new 19" kortek wont sync. All pots are halfway mark at the moment. No matter what adjustment I make, it still won't sync. What gives? I am a little ticked that no documentation is included on top of my video not syncing. I am bypassing the iso transformer as well. Any help would be appreciated if you have experience with these monitors.

so right now the only pins open on the monitor chasis are HVE (which are the second set of HVE pins). You are saying to splice my single H/S wire to both H/S pins on the monitor chasis as well as doing the same for the V/S pins?

try jumping your 2 syncs together at the RGB input connector. SOmetimes that helps.

Which Kortek is this? Check to see if there is a white button on the chassis near where the video input is, and if so, push it. It is a sync selector, and may be in the negative position while you are inputting positive - or vice versa.

If I recall correctly, Q*Bert has a way to output both separate positive sync (which it seems you are connecting to the chassis) and composite negatvie sync (which may require you to add a wire to a connector on the Q*Bert harness and reroute your video connector). If you have too much trouble, you may have to go to that extreme...

It is the KTN-2001. I do not see a white button.

Let's see a pic of your video connector. Are you using the original Q*Bert connector, or did you splice into the one that came with the monitor?

The original connector is not being used but the pin matchup is the same. On the old monitor, it was plugged into R, G, B, E, V+, H+ in the 6 block. The 3 block was left open. The old monitor was a 19k4951 and the sync button was in the up (positive) position. When plugged in the old monitor I verified it's operation was perfect. Until the tube broke.

So based on this, It is wired correctly. For Positive sync. Now what?

So...I jumped the H and V pos pins...no dice. I thought maybe there was something wrong with the monitor so I hooked it up to my super pac which was playing blind lately and it had a flawless picture.

Any more ideas?

Just pulled my machine, and this is what I found:
I have a 7406 in J14

The original video cable is being used with the following color pinout
1-Red
2-Green
3-Blue
4-White
5-Orange
6-Black

Thanks so much for checking. 4 (White) is ground? or is 6 (Black)?

I have a 7406 in J14 as well. I jumped the V+ sync and the picture is stable but slightly bent.

I do not understand Al Kossow's email stating When using a 7406, The sync is then active low, and since it is an open collector, you can "Wire-or" the outputs amd get combined H/V sync. Can someone explain?

Thanks!!
