I've re-capped the the monitor as well as a new flyback, the monitor works with good color. As you know I've been restoring the Discs of Tron. I got the monitor hooked up to discs of Tron cpu board. but the picture is shifted to the left all the way. I can't get it centered to save my life. I've checked the control board. It checks out fine. I've adjusted the 'h pos' pot which shifts it to the other side of the screen but won't center. I'm scratching my head on this one.

As I recall isn't Discs of Tron a Negitive sync. (which is what I got it hooked up as)

I'll keep reading the forums but if anyone has an idea let me know what I could check.

-Ron (And I thank everyone for all your help!)

Have you tried moving the Horizontal Raster Position jumper ?
(depending on what it's set on now)

If the horizontal hold or horizontal position trimpots are not bad, then IC2 (LA7823) is bad.

Nadda.. I've changed the IC and even tested all the pots.. Nadda... I hate k7000's now... I'm gonna get a g07 atleast I know how to make those work with anything!

What's with all the K7000 hatin' lately. ;)

Just for kicks....
Have you tried jumpering over from the Neg Composite Sync to the Pos Sync ?
Or moving the ground pin ?

You seem to have stable sync, but sometimes when I have weird issues like that I'll try things like that just to know I did.

And just the fact that the Horiz Raster Jumper didn't make a noticeable change would make me look in that area as well.

Yeah, I think it's a sync thing. I've had them do that when the sync is backwards (positive/negative or the other way around) you can't get them to center because they want to center off the screen, if that makes any sense.

does the yoke look square to the tube ?

could be its off center because the little rubber spacer is missing

I'll check that but on a MCR I would assume crossing the H/V syncs would do damage to the board? Since Discs of Tron has seperate syncs unless I'm not seeing something. I'll check that though.

Couldnt be any more perfect. I really suspect sync issues now but I'm scratching my head on it..

scratching my head

re-test all components in the horizontal circuit ken was talking about. resistors, trim pots, everything. one resistor could be off or you dont have continuity through the PCB, cracked trace, something is skewing the picture.

do you have an ESR meter to test any capacitors, so you know they are good.
