I had a co-worker give me an old wood grain Zenith TV from the 80's. I was expecting to find a nice tube I could swap into a G07.
Opened it up to find tube number A48AAX02X. Checked the BK setup chart to find it's a CR23 and 6.3 volt heater. Looking good so far. Then as I'm brushing away some dust I see 19v100. That's a 100 degree tube right? I've found the needle in the haystack TV that has the 100 degree tube.
That would be great for a 6100 if I swapped out the neck connector, but I don't have any 6100's. Can this tube be used successfully with a monitor that uses 90 degree tubes?

Wow

Perfect for a WG6100 with a different CRT connector. Nice one

Thanks for the info too :)

If you try it in your 90 degree cab, you will get bowing at the sides.

You could do a swap thread, and you might get home delivery, with that tube

I'll have to see if I can trade it to someone that can use it. Just my luck, everyone finds 90 degree tubes, which I need, and the one TV I crack open has the elusive 100 degree tube :D

The TV model is:
Zenith SB1965WK
Manufactured November 1985

Yoke readings:
11.3 ohms Vert
1.3 ohms Horiz

Tube number:
a48aax02x
CR23
100 degree tube

Hey Dan, I've got a 100 deg tube stashed away as well. Seems to me it was from a wood grain zenith but I think it was 2 or 3 years older. One of these days I'm interested in trying the 6100 swap but the only 6100 I have is a tempest and with the smoked glass, the burn just hasn't bothered me enough to make the effort. If I get a chance I'll have to double check the tube # to see if it matches yours. Nice find!

I can't decide if I want to hang on to this one or get it to someone that can use it. I currently don't have any games that have 6100's in them, and I'm short on space for storing tubes. I have this semi-hoarder mentality that knows as soon as I get rid of something I will need it and not be able to find another one. :D
