19-1 A board

There is a difference... that said, only experience gamers who are masters of each of the game will really tell the difference. Casual gamers won't know the difference (I didn't). The experienced players I've read that expressed an opinion on this topic mentioned timing issues in Robotron... and I seem to remember a Defender timing issue as well. Not sure about the rest.

As for the JROK board... it doesn't use the same "hardware" as the original Williams machines... it uses the same "CPU" as the original Williams machines. Sound is still emulated I do believe.

So are you saying there is a difference between the 19-1 or the Jrok board, VS an original board? Dont think that question was asked? Or are you saying there are differences between the 19-1 and Jrok on gameplay?

JROK vs 19-1 Multi

No input from anyone as to if this is different/better/doesnt matter?
I have the jrok and it has the nice feature of being able to customize the control settings which is pretty important to maintain authentic feel of game play (e.g. bubbles controlled by 2p joystick--it's more in the center of a 2p control panel, etc.)

I've never played the 19-1 but the game play is good on the jrok and is not emulated, i guess it runs on some kind of modified original hardware (it did lock up once)--even has a setting for a 49-1 joystick for sinistar (i think?)

That said, I'm thinking about picking up one of these 19-1 pcb's anyway for the game variety and price--then i can give you a comparison.

Is it true that these 19-1 boards do not have Hyperspace/Inviso buttons for Defender and Stargate?

Haven't installed yet, but the JAMMA wire map in the instructions show both Inviso and Hyperspace pinouts.

I got mine yesterday and threw it into one of my candy cabs. Bit of a pain to set up (damn that music is loud by default!), but fun to play with. Gradius has bad sound which goes out a lot, but otherwise plays perfect. Anyone know how to set it up for two player free play? All I can get is for 1 player......

You can read the little book ,19 and 60-1 are the same .

1,turn power off
2 ,find your "test" button ,some games do not have ,some only have "service " button.
3,,hold test button ,turn power on at same time ,hold button for 5 sec .
4,you will see a test screen .
5,push test button go to different game selection .
6 use joystick to select ,use switch one (fire) to change setting
7 ,use player one button to save setting
8,turn game off ,then on ,you will have the new setting .

in page 3,You can turn the music off ,free play ...you need to set upright ,2 player for both joystick to work .
