Got a weird problem with the 15v2000 in my Asteroids Deluxe (mini). Check the videos:
breathing
fading
Looks like....breathing? I dunno. The really odd thing is when the 3 objects are lined up horizontally, the display really shrinks. The longer they're lined up, the more dead it gets until it completely dies out and then comes right back. Weird. I wish my camera could really show what's happening. It's a partially collapse, with a kind of selective loss of brightness. The longer they're lined up the more brightness loss. It goes completely black in the video, though it's hard to see the details
I capped this thing about 2 years ago (I think it was 2 years). I also replaced one of the inrush resistors with a NTC thermistor. The other side of the supply was fine at the time. The display looks good with the AD board driving it. But not with this thing. BTW, this is definitely a monitor issue. The game shows fine on an o'scope connected in parallel with the monitor.
Any suggestions? I need help *fast*....like before CAX!
