Just started troubleshooting this monitor yesterday and thought I had it. Spot killer on, fuse F700(2A) was blown, and the two X-axis chassis transistors(Q708 & Q709) were defective. Changing out these three components lead to a working monitor... for ~10 minutes. Then the video collapsed to a vertical line for a second or two and the spot killer came back on(and F700 was blown).

The game is Omega Race and I've verified a good signal coming out of the OR PCB with a oscilloscope.

I'm going to rip the monitor back apart tonight but just wanted to air the trouble here in case anyone has run into a similar thing before.

Figure I'll start working my way back from Q708 & Q709 and an iffy D708 or Q706 or Q707 looks like it could lead to my symptoms.

TIA. :beerchug:

Found a couple newly scorched resistors in the X-amplifier circuit and one iffy transistor. Unfortunately the local parts store doesn't carry the NTE equiv(looks to be long gone at NTE) so the repair has to wait until I get a parts order in.

Nice thing is the F700 fuse blew before the chassis transistors so I get another shot at the repair without having to change those... this time at least. :D
