15 yes count them.

edit: had to add 2 more to IC301 and re-flow all the pins.

so 17 jumpers total now and 1 vertical transistor and cap kit later and this poor WG4900 chassis lives again.

it took a little over 4 hours to find all the broke traces. i had to keep rocking the heat sinks that hold the vertical transistors. each time i would touch it the pic would colaps.

i was getting tired of taking it on and off the tube. but it was not going to beat me. its rock solid now and looks great.

so how many of you have taken the time to fix an unknown chassis like that. i got them it in a bulk deal some where and just had the urge to work on the WG4900 chassis with unknown problems.

i have fixed 6 in a day and a half. and still have around 10 or so WG4900's to go.

Peace

they are for sale if any body wants one. pm me.

Your determination paid off, congrats!

thanks i was determined it was going to live. it showed healthy signs of life

You really wanted that one fixed.

no good chassis should get left behind.

a couple of them had parts missing that i repaired i had to look over each board to make sure i had all the parts on them.

i did have two that were cracked in half or in thirds. they were doner's. as they was worth more in parts. than the time to fix 40+ traces and broke components.

i try and save as many of the good chassis as i can K7000, sanyo, WG4900, and GO7's. i like theses chassis the best.

looks good i did a go7 neck board that had 5-6 jumper a couple weeks ago my self. cab fell over in my cousins truck they hit a curb on the way to my house. i was pissed when they got to my house and the back of the cab was busted in. got lucky it didn't bust the tube. just bent the pins and broke the neck board. now i gotta do the cab work:mad:

We just need Chris to chime in. He is the master of rewiring busted GO7 chassis. I have bought a couple from him and they look "Frankensteined" but work great when he is done with them.

that would be cool if we can get peoples monitor repair jumper pics.
so that other people know that busted monitor chassis can be saved.

new progress on this chassis.

now i am up to 17 jumpers.

had to add 2 more jumpers to IC301 for broke traces and re-flow all the pins.

pic was unstable for the horizontal hold when chassis was taped on and adjusting the pots.

looks its finally good to go now. hurray!!

I usually do a big jumper job every few weeks but mine are on automotive ECU's. It's amazing what I get in from customers that think they can jumper. Most of the time they use way more wires than are necessary and they pay out the ass to get it fixed.
