I'm trying to fix a 13" Keltron monitor in a Star Castle cocktail. This was partially worked on by another person before coming to me.

The schematics online appear to be for the 19". They list the 4 deflection transistors as 2N5876's and 2N5878's. The guy who worked on it before me said he replaced the transistors on this monitor with the same numbers that were already on it - 2N3716's and 2N3792's. Does that sound right?

Originally, there was a resistor that burnt up on the monitor chassis. it was replaced and burnt up again. Some transistors (2N5320's and 2N5322's) were bad, and that's where the other guy stopped.

I ordered those transistors and put them in, and that resistor burnt up again. I found the 2N2102 transistor next to it also blown, so I'm going to replace them both to see what happens next.

Anyone else have an idea?

Well, that does say the 2N3716's and 2N3792's were used as replacements, so that's good. Thanks.

I found that the transistor that blew at Q106 was not the 2N2102 that it was supposed to be, but a different part number, so that might be why it blew up. The resistor tied to it also burnt up, so hopefully the proper parts will make it work...
