13" GO7-FBO in Centipede Cocktail shrunken 1" (horiz. issue)

Friend gave me a Centipede cocktail that was playing blind about 6 months ago. I checked the monitor and it had a few vented caps in the power supply... 5 mins later - $1 for a Centipede cocktail!

Then a week or so ago, I left the machine on overnight. I woke up and there was a burning smell coming from the machine. The flyback had cracked and leaked ooze. The horizontal output transistor was also checking shorted, and the 1.0a fuse next to the large cap.

I ordered a new flyback from twistedquarter's ebay store, found a NTE cross for the HOT (D871), and got a 4a fuse. Installed all of these, and the pic came up, but shrunken about an inch on all sides.

After verifying the jumpers are in the correct place to adjust vertical and horizontal, I used the pots on the back to adjust the vertical (in game = left and right sides due to vertical orientation of screen in cabinet) and this comes out ok. However, adjusting the horizontal width coil (with the proper tool), barely increases the width (top and bottom of game due to orientation). I checked the connections on the flyback and the width coil and went over them to be sure. Also checked for 120B+ this is OK as well. Pic is still shrunk. So here's my question(s):

(1) Checking the listing for the flyback, it says it was for a 19" G07, and I have a 13". Will this matter? The website lists only one for G07 monitors, so I wouldn't think so, but now I am having a problem.

(2) Could the D871 cause the problem? NTE says it crosses and replaces the 2SD870, but again, I am now having a problem.

(3) Do I need to install a cap kit? I've already replaced a handful of caps, and I believe it was likely recapped before, as many of the caps do not *look* old. I had no vert/horiz problem before, so I am not really thinking this is the cause, as they appeared to be fine before replacing the flyback.

(4) Should I be replacing C515 with a different cap to increase the width? I've heard this has helped people before.

Any help greatly appreciated!

(Pics attached - you can see shrunken before and after all adjustments listed above)

Here is a site that describes pretty well how to change the horizontal width.

http://www.therealbobroberts.net/width.html

I have used the generic G07 flybacks, and the D871 without any problems in the past so that is not likely the problem. I suggest doing a quick cap kit but just because you already have it out of the cab and the old lytics are well past their life expectancy.

Have you checked the pic with the bezel on the tube? I ask because I fought for a very long time to get a machine to perfectly fit the tube face only to find afterwards that the bezel purposely blocked much of the screen and I had to (well, will have to) readjust it down.

Thanks for the response - yes I installed it in the machine initially, and didn't realize until playing for about an hour that it was shrunken on the top and bottom. So I've seen it with the bezel on and it's definitely shrunk. It also shakes a little up and down (horizontal shaking).

Did cap kit - still no dice. Gonna try that bob roberts link and C515 stuff.
