Were there ever any? May be a stupid question but I guess I've never seen or heard of one. Even in the Color Vector cabarets and cocktails I've seen they only ever had 19 inch models.

Yes, one was used in the Pat 9000, an Atari testing rig.

I believe that was the only one ever made.

If you build it, they will come....

I have pondered the PAT9000 setup before, and more so recently with complex reproduction PCB projects coming to light...

If the combined Amplifone HV/Deflection board used in the PAT9000's 13" Amplifone were to be reproduced, and compatible yokes were found or made, we could bring to life an army of 13" color vectors, only dreamed of BITD. Taking original (PAT9000 13") yoke readings and comparing to various existing tubes and yokes, I would think this can be done.

An old thread on here somewhere had pics of someone who had put together his own mock 13" Amplifone-enstein, using a 13" raster tube and Amp boards.

The Pat9000 HV board is different from the standard amp board and the flyback as well. The replacement flybacks do work though. There were some foreign color vector monitors made but I don't have a link to them. I have only seen one and cannot be sure that it wasn't a color gel on it.

Which is why I referred to it as the "Combined Amp HV/Deflection board" - Because as I understand it, the 2 were merged into a single board design for the 13" used in the PAT9000. And why I'd like to see it reproduced ;)

The flybacks I wondered about, and I guess that answers that. So this is a feasible project...

Here are a few pics of the 13" Amplifone:

The transformer is in that little cage, and as Komodo said, you can use the 19" Amplifone transformers (Penn-Trans/Wintron or the repros) if the original dies. Kevin Moore tried that out (I believe he was repairing boards for Komodo actually) and it worked fine. I have pics of that if anyone needs to see it. A few modifications need to be made but it's pretty easy.

I have a spare PAT9000 I'll be listing soon. It has the vector tube and housing but the board is gone. But you can rig it with the 19"/25" deflection and HV boards as ballytablewiz said (it was Mark Horcher who posted about that - scroll down to Mark H's post, there's a pic):

Wow, awesome info

I see the yoke is an Amp yoke, so the tube must be 90 degrees

Also there is a neck board as opposed to a connector socket, so does that mean the pinouts are different, maybe like a WG6100 neck board's connector?

I love this "new" info

Cheers guys

Is this thing on?

First off, that right there says that someone else saw the value in that board and hoarded it.

Second, when you say "spare," that means you have another. Why not complete the second one and increase it's value? By REPRO'ing the PCB!

We HAVE the technology - we CAN rebuilt it :p

Honestly, is there a Holier Grail PCB? Let's look at some of the rarer, more expensive boards out there. Major Havoc, Splatterhouse, Quantum. $500-$1000 each, 100-500 of each made. And how many PAT9000's? Maybe 100? 6-12 known to exist today, and probably half of those are missing the 13" Amplifone, or it's board, like yours.

We have members capable of duplicating this PCB : Tronic, of Quantum PCB fame; and Dezbaz, who is remaking the 19/25" Amp HV PCBs. Let's get one of these boards into the hands of whomever is willing and able to do the job. I'm sure every PAT9000 owner would like a spare, and plenty of madmen like me would buy one to experiment with.

I'll put my money where my mouth is and offer up the first $20 to get an original shipped to a reproducer.

Is there anyone on the forum who currently owns a PAT9000 vector tube?

I was after a little info if possible please :) (Crucial to the repro project)

Please let me know if so.

Thank you

What do you need to know?

The original tube is a 13VBSP22

I am trying to gather info on the Deflection yoke if possible please

Any info is good info.

A clear pic of the yoke would be great. So I can count the windings
Wire gauge of the outer coil would be fantastic, with a micrometer etc.

Ohms Readings would help, IE outer coil, and inner coil etc
Inductance would be good too

A clear pic would be great if you can help. Anything else is a bonus

Click the pics for huge res.

Not that you need it, but the yoke schematic is on the front page of the manual, useful for the following two pics.

My Fluke 87 reads .4 ohm with the leads shorted, so no idea on how accurate this is. I sold my Sencore LC102 long ago and the 87 cannot measure inductance, so I can be of no help there..

That is fantastic

Thanks very much :)

Is that enameled wire closer to the WG6100 size, or Amplifone wire, would you say?
