12.5 hours of driving later . . . I have a Stern Frenzy

Hey Guys,

I picked up my Stern Frenzy this weekend which I'm currently in the process of painting the cabinet and getting the boards working! Talk about a long haul, that was the furtherest I've ever gone to get a cabinet, and honestly I don't think I could do it in a day trip again. Here is a rough timeline of my Saturday.

Go to bed Friday night at 8:00 pm.
Wake up and leave my house at 1:30am in the morning from just outside of Bristol VA/TN.
Arrive in Pittburgh, PA right at 7:55am in the morning to get the Stern Frenzy
Spend an hour loading the cabinet and looking at Roadrunner000 amazing collection!
Leave Pittsburg at 8:50 am heading back towards Bristol area VA/TN.
Stop for lunch right at noon for about 20 minutes
Get back to my place right at 3:00 pm.

I think round trip was right at 660ish miles . . . whatever gave me the idea to do that trip in one day . . . I'm not sure but I don't think I can do it again any time soon!

I'll post pictures soon and updates soon! Trying to get the board set working at the moment . . . I think its a power issue, but its throwing me for a MASSIVE loop at the moment!

Thanks

Nice! I've been real lucky on all of my gets. I had to travel about 3 blocks to get my WOW, and take a an hour on a train in Japan to get my blast. You will thank yourself for the trip later on. Berzerk & Frenzy in one house? You humanoids are not safe.

Frenzy is worth it. I had to sell mine years ago before coming to Florida and missed out on one last year. It went to another collector who sold it to another collector who is hopefully selling it to me in another couple of months.

Nice... You don't hear as many stories about the mega road trips now that gas is 4 bucks a gallon. I'd still do it for certain games, too! :)

Yeah the gas was expensive but totally worth it as well. Also helped that my truck is a four banger and got right at 24.8mpg the entire trip. Roadrunner000 collection is amazing, and a nice guy to chat with as well! I'm really glad I made the trip but I don't think I'll be doing it again for just any game!

For me the Stern Frenzy was worth the road trip. Kind of completes my "Berzerk" setup, Berzerk slow bullets, Berzerk fast bullets, Frenzy.

Awesome! Glad you were able to complete your set of Berzerk/Frenzy machines. Looking forward to pics of that bad boy up and running.

Here are some pictures of my current progress . . . kind of a mess at the moment:

Working on painting the cabinet and gathering all the pieces for it. It was missing some stuff which I knew about when I got it, but thankfully I have a spare Stern cabinet that I'm striping for the cause.

I know the monitor works and it looks fantastic, even with the burn in. Hopefully I'll get that board up and running tonight. Pretty sure its a RAM problem on the BSC-1000 board.

Well I found the problem, its just a bad BSC-1000 board, however it appears that all my spare BSC-1000 boards are bad as well . . ..

I've ruled out the RAM as you can easily remove the RAM chips and I've tested them in my good BSC-1000 board so it looks like its the solder on chips which for the life of me at the moment I can't remember what they are.

I love road trips for games, just that nasty price of gas that puts a dent in it. Looks like you have added a good one to your collection.
