How many of your current games do you think you'll still have 10 years from now, if any? In 10 years, I'll be almost 50, and my kids will be 15 and 12. I hope to still have all of the games that I do currently, think I've weeded out most of those that weren't permanents in the lineup.

On that same note, 10 years ago, my total number of arcade games was............. zero. I did not acquire my first arcade game until 2005, and had it not been a neighbor who sold it to me, I probably never would have made the conscious connection of realizing you could just go out on the interwebs and start hunting for one.

10 years ago I had Zero. 10 years from now I probably would still have Pac-man and Crazy Climber.

EDIT: Eh, It would be cool to have em all!

I hope to still have all my keepers and a bigger house to put them in with a dedicated gameroom. Garages are cool and all but a dedicated gameroom large enough to keep all of my games in would be ideal. I had none 10 years ago.

I'd guess I will have 1-3 of the ones I have now. I could get rid of most of my games and I wouldn't feel too bad about it.

well, ten years ago i had no games, but was soon to get my pacman. in ten years, i'd expect and plan on having everything from right now, with the exception of my pin, which i don't know about. but these days i'm done with the buying and selling and trying to put together a collection.

10 years ago, I didn't even realize it was possible to own these games. 10 years from now I will still have DK, Tempest, Millipede, and High Speed. The rest may stick around, but these are the four that I consider definite keepers. I hope to be able to add a few more pins as well.

PM sent - I am a little curious...

Edit: Not curious anymore, you freaks. Ouch.

:)

5 games 10 yrs ago. 10 yrs from now I plan to still have my current ones plus some more.

10 years from now, we'll most likely be in a bigger house where I'll have a room solely for my arcade. I'm guessing I'll have about 10-12 games (including the ones I own now) and maybe 1 pin by then. My daughter will be 10 and already owning the 3rd elevator on DK.

A great thread! 15 years ago I used to buy everything in sight and ended up trying to sell stuff pretty quickly. Today, and largely based on my mortgage situation, I only buy games I plan on keeping for the "long haul." Ten years from now I should still have my Asteroids Deluxe cabaret, Missile Command cabaret, Centipede cabaret and Food Fight cocktail. All are B+ or better condition. Ten years from now I'll still have my Scramble UR because I'm moving my 48 in 1 over into it. 10 years from now I hope to have my multi-Williams done :D, Defender fixed and long sold off and jamma cab outta there. I'm building what I call my "lifetime collection." A small collection based on the limitations of my 1 bedroom 660sq foot condo I will be in for a long time...

10 years ago today I had a MAME cocktail and a broken Asteroids. Right now, I have the same Asteroids (working) and the MAME cab has morphed into an upright, plus 7 more games and a pin. All have sentimental meaning to me except for the pin, so they will stay for the next 10 years.

Hell, it's more hassle to try and get rid of them than to just sit on them and let my kids deal with them upon my death.

Was it a "bad hug"? What were you expecting?! ;)

"Show us on the doll where they touched you."

10 years ago... Man. It's hard to think of 2000 being a decade ago. I think I had one at that time, a home-made mame cab. It's long gone, because it was awful. Not hellcade awful, but aesthetically lacking for sure.

I plan to still have my DK, my Tempest, my Joust, and a mame cab of some sort, maybe a vertical and horizontal one. I'll probably have more than that, but at least those 4 or 5.
