I picked up 6 NOS monitors at an auction friday. They are KEC pw1574 10"b/w monitors. The tube pinout is exactly the same as the monitors in the arachnid super 6 dart board. My question is can i use the chassis from the original dart board monitor (monochrome) on the tube from the new monitor which is B&W? Is it the tube or chassis that is B&W or monochrome?

are the dart board monitors not monochrome? worst is you hook it up and the pic shows scrambled , I would try it and see
*EDIT*
I see you want to try the chassis , I would change the yoke over from the chassis you want to try , easy to do , no pesky convergence rings to have to get set just so. the important things on the tubes are the neck pinout and the yoke impedance

The chassis and the tube are both monochrome. Color chassis/tubes are very different. You should be able to swap the tubes no problem. Black and white tubes seem to be more compatible than the color tubes are. And with a monochrome monitor, don't bother trying to match up yoke impedences, just swap the yoke over - keep the yoke with the chassis it came with, and swap only the picture tube. With a mono monitor, there is no convergence to worry about, so yoke adjustment is super easy - just rotate so the picture is straight and clamp it down.
